My rendition on a simple utilitarian frontier rifleman’s knife before the government provided one as part of his issued kit. Original rifleman’s knives were butcher knives, daggers, hunting knives, or what ever they could make, buy, or have made by a blacksmith. The blades were often narrow - this one is about 1-inch wide. It was a tool, a weapon if necessary, and worn on the belt.

Handcrafted full-tang frontier knife made of 1095 high carbon steel. Blade has a modified clip point and has flintknapping along the spine that gives it an old-world appeal.  Blade has differential heat treatment giving it a hard sharp cutting edge and a tough spine.

4" cutting edge, 8.5" overall. 1/8" thickness. Knife weight 4.2 oz / 6.8 oz with sheath.

Handle scales are made of burnt Oak with genuine rawhide strapping embedded in the scales for texture/grip - giving this blade a unique native look.  Brass hardware.

Comes with a handcrafted 100% veg -tan leather sheath. Sheath welt is secured using copper saddle rivets giving it a unique and rugged frontier look. Belt loop is secured with a strong copper saddle rivet. Includes lanyard and bead.

This knife was hammer forged in my YouTube video "Knifemaking: Junk Car Spring to Hammer Forged Frontier Knife.

This small frontier knife was forged from a vehicle coil spring and is full-tang made of 5160 spring steel. Blade has differential heat treatment giving it a hard sharp cutting edge and a tough spine.

4" cutting edge, 7.5" overall length. 1/8" thickness. Knife weight 4.5 oz / 6.4 oz with sheath.

Handle scales are burnt bone with red scales and brass hardware. Note: The scales do have some striations that are natural to the bone used and are pronounced with the exposure to flame; this is normal.

Comes with a handcrafted 100% veg -tan leather sheath. Handstitched with thick welt using strong artificial sinew. Belt loop is secured with a strong copper saddle rivet. Includes lanyard and bead.

The Woodsman knife is full-tang made of 1095 high carbon steel. This knife has a "straight back" blade design giving it a strong point and a nice belly making it well-balanced for piercing and slicing. Blade is deferentially heat treated giving it a hard sharp cutting edge and a tough spine.

This Nessmuk knife is easy to carry and functional with a full-tang 15N20 nickel carbon steel blade. What makes this Nessmuk different from other Nessmuk knives on the market is that this knife has a very thin blade and a nice belly making it perfect for slicing and skinning, while others are way too thick. Blade is deferentially heat treated giving it a hard sharp cutting edge and a tough spine.
